RETURNS

We have recently overhauled our Customer Care / Returns policies to make surfboard shopping a little more risk-free. Buying a board comes at a considerable cost, and above all, we want YOU to be beyond happy with your purchase.

We do ask that you carefully consider any purchase or order, and we invite you to take up an appointment with our experienced sales team to help you through the ordering process so that we can ensure what we deliver is exactly what you want.

 

SATISFACTION GUARANTEE 

We believe in what we build, but we understand at times an order, or purchase can be made whereby the wrong size or setup may result in you feeling dissatisfied with your order. Let’s change that! 

We now offer a simple 30-day exchange offer. 

Conditions:

  • The board will need to be returned to our Sydney or Byron Bay operations at the expense & responsibility of the sender within a strict 30 days of receiving the order. (It’s always a good idea to retain the packaging that your board was received in, in case a return is arranged).
  • Yes, of course the board can be ridden, and we ask that you try a multiple of fin setups if the reason for return could be related to an incorrect size or profile of fins. 
  • The board must be returned without significant damage, repairs, or modifications. If repairs are required, the customer will be charged our standard repair prices.
  • The replacement order will subject to a $100 AUD “changeover” fee, as we will be on-selling the board as a used/ preloved board.
  • The replacement order is limited to equal or lesser value of the original order. If it is above the original value, the customer will be charged the balance at standard prices.
  • No credit will be given for an order of lesser value. 
  • Offer is limited to one exchange.

The replacement board will be delivered to you at no additional cost.

 

SNAPPED BOARD POLICY

Hey we’ve all busted a new board, sometimes in the very first session. It’s the nature of what we partake in and the playground in which we do it. So, know that you will not be asked “how did this happen?”. No judgement here folks…

If a snap, crease, or significant damage (meaning the board will not perform the same even after repair) does occur, then we simply offer a rebuild on ANY board at 30% off RRP.

Conditions:

  • Offer is limited to 90 days (3 months) of receiving the order.
  • Offer is limited to one replacement.

The replacement board will be delivered to you at no additional cost.

 

RETURN PROCESS

To start a return, you can contact us at hello@misfitshapes.com. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

 

REFUNDS

There are no refunds or cancellations on custom ordered surfboards unless the product is faulty.

There are no refunds on stock surfboards incl. discounted items, factory seconds, or preloved boards unless the product is faulty.

EXCHANGES

Our exchange policy on custom orders is detailed above in our ‘Satisfaction Guarantee’. 

We except exchanges on “stock” boards. We all know that sometimes you need to feel a board to know if it’s right. 

Conditions:

  • Exchanges limited to 14 days of receiving the order.
  • Exchanges must be returned un-damaged, unridden, in original condition (i.e. no grips, wax, etc).
  • Misfit Shapes reserves the right to refuse the exchange if we deem the board to be unfit for resale.
  • Unfortunately, we cannot accept any form of return on sale, discounted, factory second, or preloved boards or gift cards.

 

DAMAGES & ISSUES

Please inspect your order upon receiving and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. (Refer to our Shipping Policy for full details).
