This model was originally planned to be called the LONG CLOUD, derived from its extended length on base model the BEACH CLOUD. But long cloud felt more like the name of a weather pattern. It’s not like “warm day” is a sexy name for pair of pants, long cloud wasn’t sexy enough either. So, we landed on ‘LONGUS’, derived from the Greek word "Longos", which simply means ‘long’ or ‘a long structure’. Fitting, as the model is available between 6'4 and 8'0 as stock sizes, but we can make right up to, ready for it.... 11’0!!!

The board itself is everything you want it to be. It’s an aesthetically pleasing mid-length twin that has a tonne of rideability because it is a classic plan-shape re-designed by an experienced 'high-performance' shaper. As he does in almost every retrospective shape, head shaper Dave disguises performance in classic shapes and outlines, and the Longus is no exception. The model is a responsive, free, and incredibly fast board that allows riders to drive hard off the bottom, trim with ease, and draw effortless lines.

Tech talk ;

RAILS /FOIL: The board maintains a generous amount of foam throughout the centre panel of the board, which tapers off to a foiled down yet forgiving rail. This equates to hold and response without being too critical.

BOTTOM CURVES: The entry is rolled vee, almost dishy, which helps cut through and displace water, meaning no catching when dropping in or climbing the face. That carries into a very slight single that provides a touch of lift and carry under your front feet, then returning to a slight double concave to vee, which promotes release and allows for effortless rail-to-rail transitions.

ROCKER: Although fairly flat, the board has a continual rocker accented in the nose and tail, again to lifting the nose out of the water and allowing for more release and turn-ability.

OUTLINE: The outline is a fuller, traditional mid-length fish that tapers into a slightly narrower tail with deep swallow creating a straighter rail line that has incredible drive and hold.

The combination of rail length, pinched rails and bottom contours all add up to a beautiful blend of hold, flow and release, all packaged a in a high-end, no expense spared showpiece yet everyday board.
