I was there the day he was born...

It's funny how life has a way of coming full circle. I can't recall the day, I can barely recall the time, but 20 years ago, original North Steyne heavy, Brett (Curotta) and I were off on a normal working day slinging surfboards at the old Carlton St Manly Board Store, when Brett received a call from Nina (Axel's mum) that she was in labour.

Flustered as could be, Brett ran out of the store, jumped on his infamous child-seat-equipped mountain bike, in dash toward their home, which was all of 150m away.

He phoned later that day to share the news that they had welcomed their second child, Axel.

Here we are two decades on, welcoming this fine young man, and brilliant natural footer, to our Apparel team.
